Susan Kane Joins the SUCCESS Magazine Network

DALLAS, Aug. 10, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- In a world enthralled by social media, there is often a debate on its usefulness. For Susan Kane, it proved extremely useful: it facilitated securing her position as the new editor in chief of SUCCESS.

First published in 1891, SUCCESS quickly became a staple for businessman and entrepreneurs. Re-launched in April 2008 by VideoPlus, the magazine inspires their readers by featuring interviews with business successes, including Apple CEO Steve Jobs, Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg, and California's first lady Maria Shriver, among many others.

Instead of utilizing traditional employment routes, SUCCESS Publisher Darren Hardy posted the vacancy via social networking site LinkedIn. In true networking fashion, a former colleague forwarded the job information to Kane. After interviews in New York City, Dallas and Rochester, N.Y., Kane secured the position.

This is not the Vassar alum's first venture into the world of journalism. Previously employed as the editorial director of The Parenting Group, executive editor of YM Magazine and executive editor of New Woman Magazine, Kane is excited about the new opportunity.

With her new appointment, Kane will be changing her location from New York to Dallas, where SUCCESS magazine's office is located. Her husband and two children will also be relocating.

Kane "checks in" to work August 15.
