Survey Result Released on Key Trends and Challenges Surrounding Offshore Safety

150 miles off Aberdeen, the gas leak at the Elgin platform has been continuing since last Sunday. Under the ever pressing pressure, experts from the US based company Wild Well Control has joined Total with hope of resolving this crisis as soon as possible.
In preparation of Offshore Safety Summit 2012, Oil and Gas IQ recently conducted a survey among Health and Safety Executive (HSE) to assess the current trends and challenges facing the oil and gas industry - Human Factor and Company Culture are considered as the most important aspects of offshore safety, followed by the Process Factor, Regulation Compliance and Asset Integrity.
The survey also reveals that 68.2% of the respondents believes that the safety standards has improved across the oil and gas industry since the Deep-water Horizon incident, whilst 69.6% thinks that safety is ever compromised by the financial side of the oil and gas business.
