DALLAS, Feb. 7, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- Surgical Notes, a nationwide provider of revenue cycle solutions, including, transcription, coding, revenue cycle management, and document management for the ambulatory surgery center (ASC) and surgical hospital markets, announces the launch of a newly updated mobile transcription application. The app provides many enhancements to clients contracting with Surgical Notes for SNChart transcription.
SNChart, Surgical Notes' proprietary technology, is a user-friendly, web-based transcription management tool that automates much of a surgery center's manual, day-to-day transcription operations. Users can receive, review, edit, sign, and archive operative reports in one platform that provides complete data integrity from start to finish by offering full integration with practice management systems.
The new SNChart mobile transcription app, designed for physicians and customer beta tested, is now available for download in the App Store (iOS) and Play Store (Android). It minimizes administrative tasks associated with documentation, speeds up the review, edit, and authentication process, and allows providers to dictate anytime, anywhere using their Android or Apple mobile devices.
The SNChart mobile transcription app is already in use by physicians in surgery centers and offices nationwide. There is no additional cost to Surgical Notes clients for the app.
New features of the mobile transcription app include:
- Biometric Login offering enhanced security and access.
- Expanded Device Support to include Android and iOS platforms.
- Modern Design that is user friendly and simplifies navigation.
- Color-Coded Status Indicators to highlight important action items.
- eSignature Support to speed the transcription process in a compliant manner.
- Multi-Tasking Support to allow use of multiple apps and receive incoming calls simultaneously.
- Advanced Search to assist with locating critical information quickly.
The SNChart mobile transcription app is fully HIPAA compliant, and the Surgical Notes development team followed widely accepted industry best practices to include many security controls. Surgical Notes has tested the app extensively with the industry-leading application security testing platform Veracode. All electronic protected health information is encrypted, and many other security controls are built into the app, such as inactivity timeouts, unique logins, and logging.
"Surgical Notes was one of the first companies to launch a mobile transcription app and has once again brought further innovation to the medical transcription industry with a completely re-tooled application," said Randy Bishop, chief operating officer for Surgical Notes. "Our mobile transcription app includes the most innovative, user-friendly features available in the marketplace. We designed the new app following the latest security protocols so our clients can be assured that their information is completely secure."
"This app was developed with a group of physicians. They helped us enhance the user experience and make dictation and completion of operative reports even more convenient, quick, and easy, which reduces the time for claims submission," said Mr. Bishop. "The app ultimately shortens a facility's revenue cycle and decreases days in accounts receivable. At Surgical Notes, we strive to deliver the best transcription service in the industry. Developing new resources such as the enhanced mobile transcription app is part of ongoing efforts to improve our operations and bring greater cost savings and efficiency to our clients."
