The week-long event brings engineers and IT architects together to test interoperability, promoting the adoption of IHE standards-based interoperability in commercially available healthcare IT systems. Over 500 software systems engineers from 101 companies and organizations spent their week testing connectivity between 160 different software systems.
"As a leader in perioperative interoperability, regularly participating in events such as the Connectathon allows SIS to help shape industry integration standards and provide our clients advanced surgery and anesthesia IT solutions that integrate with their chosen enterprise solution," said SIS CEO Ed Daihl. "We are very proud to use our integration expertise to design fully-interoperable software that helps enable the flow of information and support high-quality care delivery."
At the Connectathon, SIS successfully demonstrated interoperability for each of the IHE profiles that are critical in forming an effective information exchange between a perioperative system and other hospital systems. The company ran over forty interoperability tests against 19 vendors. SIS' completion of Connectathon testing included the following IHE actors in one or more IHE integration profiles:
- Audit Trail and Node Authentication (ATNA)
- Consistent Time (CT)
- Cross Enterprise Document Sharing (XDS.b) for Documents Source and Document Consumer
- Exchange of Personal Health Record Content (XPHR, XDS-MS) (C32) for Content Creator and Content Consumer
SIS will highlight its interoperable perioperative IT solution in the Intelligent Hospital™ Pavilion at the upcoming Healthcare Information Management Systems Society (HIMSS) conference. At this event, over 50 healthcare IT vendors will together showcase how a variety of integrated technologies can seamlessly work with other medical devices to help hospitals facilitate their goals of increased patient safety, improved clinical work flow and up-to-the-minute dissemination of information at the point of care. Visit SIS at HIMSS booth 6429 and in the Intelligent Hospital at kiosk 8711-33 from March 4-6 in New Orleans.
