DALLAS, Jan. 6, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Surgery Center Network (SCN), the most comprehensive network of ambulatory surgery centers (ASCs) in the U.S., has announced its provider partners will gain greater access to patients and cases as the result of SCN partner Caprock Health Group completing two significant acquisitions in 2013.

Caprock, a third-party administrator (TPA) of health benefits headquartered in Lubbock, Texas, recently announced the acquisition of the TPA division of Employee Benefit Services (EBS). The EBS TPA division serves self-funded employer health plans in the greater San Antonio region. In July, Caprock announced it acquired Verity National Group, an established health plan services company based in San Antonio. With these acquisitions, Caprock is now one of the largest healthcare services organizations in the area.
As an SCN partner, Caprock will be implementing SCN's wide range of services for its customers beginning in 2014. SCN, which launched in March 2013, highlights and connects ASCs to the general public, insurance plans and administrators, and group health and workers' compensation employers.
"As our TPA partners grow, our provider partners gain more direct access to the incremental case volume and revenue needed to succeed in this challenging healthcare environment," said Jeff Blankinship, President of SCN. "We congratulate Caprock on these acquisitions. As a leading TPA, the self-funded employer group clients who will now receive Caprock's services will greatly benefit from their vast experience and expertise. We are looking forward to providing SCN's services to these new Caprock clients."
