Supporting Florida's Youth: Club Z! in Venice Will Provide Tutoring and Test Prep Assistance to Local Students
Seasoned teacher, coach, and new Club Z! In-Home Tutoring Services Area Director Charlie Hodges says getting kids started off on the right foot academically is of the utmost importance
VENICE, Fla., April 1, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- As a former teacher and coach, Charlie Hodges knows the challenges educators face in providing kids with all the attention and support they need for success. Despite schools' best efforts, classes are often too full and teachers too overburdened to effectively reach all the students who need their help. Meanwhile, parents may recognize that a child is struggling or that her grades are slipping and yet - even with the best of intentions - lack the tools or time to repair the situation singlehandedly. To bridge these gaps and keep students on track, says Mr. Hodges, tutoring services may be the answer.
"I see this as an opportunity to build a business that I will enjoy and that will also provide a valuable service to the community," says Mr. Hodges about his decision to purchase and operate a Club Z! In-Home Tutoring Services franchise. His new Club Z! location will serve students and parents in Venice, Nokomis, Englewood, and North Port, Florida.
Charlie Hodges is no newcomer to helping Venice kids, having taught and coached at Venice High School for 11 years. "I was elected to the Venice Area Sports Hall of Fame in 2009 for both my playing days and my coaching at VHS," he notes. "I had a very successful record in girls' basketball, boys' and girls' track, and football. As an ex-coach and teacher at Venice High, I think helping athletes both with their studies and their ACT and/or SAT prep work will be one natural fit for our new Club Z! branch."
"Getting younger kids started off on the right foot academically is also of utmost importance," says Mr. Hodges. His new Club Z! branch will help struggling kids catch up to grade level and help them develop the study skills and academic confidence they will need for continued academic success.
Whatever the age of the child or the subject or test prep area needed, tutors employed by Club Z! are pre-screened and highly trained experts in their fields who can provide assistance to students of all ability levels. Mr. Hodges himself holds a Bachelor's degree in Secondary Education and a Master's in Educational Administration and Supervision. His daughter, also a qualified elementary school teacher, also plans to tutor in the program.
With an excellent 15-year reputation and hundreds of thousands of happy clients, the Club Z! franchise is well-respected and well-loved for its supportive tutoring style and high success rates. Unlike other tutoring services, Club Z! conducts academic tutoring sessions in the comfort and security of the student's own home - a location in which distractions can be minimized and the student is more easily able to focus and feel secure. Scheduling is flexible and parent-friendly, and tutoring sessions are conducted on a one-on-one basis, so each student receives all the attention they need to specifically address their educational needs and lay a solid foundation for future learning.
Mr. Hodges is excited about the benefits his new career choice will bring to the Venice area - an area whose development he and his family are already deeply committed to. "Not only are my wife and I long-term residents of Venice, but my daughter also teaches at Venice Elementary, where her son is a first-grader. Both of my parents are retired Sarasota County teachers. My son Chip is also a well-known local businessman who lives in Venice with his wife and children, and my wife Cathy worked at FNB of Venice for 27 years."
In honor of the Venice, Florida Club Z! grand opening, new clients are currently offered a $25 discount for the first week of tutoring. For additional information about Club Z! In-Home Tutoring Services, please visit http://www.clubztutoring.com/Venice or call 1-866-44-TUTOR.
