This marks the third year in a row, A.C. Moore, along with its associates and customers, are teaming up to raise funds for the American Cancer Society through A.C. Moore's "Crafting a Better World" Program. This initiative coincides with the American Cancer Society Making Strides Against Breast Cancer® campaign in October, and gives customers an opportunity to make a difference in the fight against breast cancer.
The Making Strides Against Breast Cancer program is the largest network of breast cancer awareness events in the nation, uniting nearly 300 communities to fund the fight. Making Strides walkers turn awareness into action by raising more than $60 million for the American Cancer Society each year – one dollar at a time – to save lives from breast cancer. Funds raised help the American Cancer Society provide free resources and support to the 1 in 2 women newly diagnosed with breast cancer who turn to the Society for information and help, as well as support groundbreaking research to find, prevent, treat, and cure breast cancer.
"Thanks to the support of A.C. Moore and their customers, the American Cancer Society is helping finish the fight against breast cancer," said Lin Mac Master, chief revenue and marketing officer for the American Cancer Society. "These funds will enable the Society to continue doing the most to help people with breast cancer today while working tirelessly to find cures to end the disease tomorrow."
This fundraising program is part of A.C. Moore's "Crafting a Better World" Program which helps local communities. Since its launch in 2010, the program has raised more than $1 million for not-for-profit organizations that provide services in the communities in which A.C. Moore stores operate.
