What: The Georgia Center for Nonprofits (GCN) will hold its second annual statewide day of giving – Georgia Gives Day – this Wednesday, Nov. 13, 2013. Georgia Gives Day brings the state together as one community to raise as much money and awareness as possible for Georgia nonprofits within a 24-hour flash mob of giving. One hundred percent of proceeds will go directly to participating nonprofits.
Prizes: Nonprofits will be competing for tens of thousands of dollars in prizes throughout Georgia Gives Day and need the public's support to win them. Most common will be "Power Hour" prizes awarded to nonprofits with the most donors during selected hours, "Golden Ticket" hours which add $1,000 to a random donor's donation, and leaderboards that will reward top performers of most dollars and most donors at the end of the day. Read more about prizes at: https://gagivesday.org/c/GGD/p/Prizes.
When: Wednesday, Nov. 13, 2013 (24-hour virtual event)
Where: Online at www.GaGivesDay.org. Updates as to totals and prize winners will be posted all day on the website and on the Georgia Gives Day Facebook and Twitter.
Flash Mob: GCN has partnered with the Atlanta Falcons Cheerleaders and will be staging a "secret" flash mob on Wednesday, Nov. 13 at 12 p.m. sharp at Macy's in Lenox Square Mall to visualize the "flash mob of giving" back to nonprofits. You and your camera crew are encouraged to attend the flash mob to speak with GCN and nonprofit representatives to capture the action and reinforce the importance of supporting local nonprofit causes right in our community.

Who: More than 1,700 participating nonprofits across the state of Georgia are participating in this annual day of giving. Additionally, Atlanta Mayor Kasim Reed and Gov. Nathan Deal have vowed their support to Georgia Gives Day and encourage Georgians to give back to the nonprofits that have made a difference in their lives and community. On the inaugural Georgia Gives Day in 2012, we raised over $780,000 – our goal is to build the momentum of giving and exceed that number in 2013.
