Superstar Songstress Britney Spears Will Battle Fellow Pop Princess Christina Aguilera This Week in the Championship Round of the Celebrity Bowling Hall of Fame Tournament
Final Week of Voting Proves to Be Biggest Matchup Yet as the Final Celebrities Go Head-to-Head at www.GoBowling.com
ARLINGTON, Texas, April 2, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- The third annual Celebrity Bowling Hall of Fame competition is looking for a spectacular finish in the fourth week of voting with the final round of celebrities left to battle it out in this bracket-style tournament where fans will decide who will prevail as the winner of this year's tournament by casting votes on www.GoBowling.com. The last contestants standing are fierce female finalists: superstar songstress Britney Spears and fellow pop princess Christina Aguilera.
Throughout the four week competition, the "Legacy" bracket has been focusing on two bowling icons that have popularized bowling on the silver screen. So far, the Legacy face-off has seen an overwhelming amount of votes in favor of the "The Dude" (Jeff Bridges who starred in the cult bowling movie favorite "The Big Lebowski"). However, if "McCracken" fans (supporting Bill Murray of "Kingpin") are rallied, there is still a chance for him to strike into the Celebrity Hall of Fame with a come from behind victory.
The race for the title has been a combination of drastic showdowns – some in a close fight to the finish, while others ended up routing their competition throughout the race. This year's stars are competing for the coveted 2012 induction into the Celebrity Bowling Hall of Fame, headquartered at the International Bowling Museum and Hall of Fame in Arlington, Texas.
"The Voice" co-host Christina Aguilera's fans have made her continuation for bowling eminence possible this week as she beat out beloved morning show host's Kathie Lee Gifford & Hoda Kotb, making it one "frame" closer to winning the Celebrity Bowling Hall of Fame tournament. Last week's showdown proved that the "Moves Like Jagger" singer Christina Aguilera's moves on the lanes were superior to that of her opponents in what was an improbable and unlikely matchup. This week, she is up for another challenge against fellow multi-platinum recording star Britney Spears who last week defeated NBA athlete LeBron James, in the pursuit for a coveted spot in the championship round.
What does the most influential NBA athlete since Michael Jordan and a pop queen have in common? A battle for bowling supremacy—that's what. The two infamous stars in their respective categories, multi-platinum recording star Britney Spears and NBA mega-star LeBron James went head-to-head last week, in their own quirky matchup where they were vying for fan votes. While Britney Spears fans continued to support their favorite star, only one was able to move on and be named the winner in the battle to be named this year's inductee to the Celebrity Bowling Hall of Fame. In the end, Britney Spears sent "King James," LeBron James down the lanes with a gutter ball when she controlled majority of the votes in final showdown this past week.
With a little over a week left for fans to vote, time is quickly beginning to run out on both of these matchups as voting will continue now through April 10 on www.GoBowling.com.
These two final nominees are still in the running for the chance to be named this year's winner, and have played a big part in helping to popularize and support the sport of bowling, continuing to help make it the number one participatory sport in America.
