SuperHeroStuff Donates Over $18,000 of Super Hero Merchandise to Children's Hospital of Philadelphia
SINKING SPRING, Pa., Dec. 20, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- This Christmas season patients at Children's Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP) have something super to look forward to: superhero socks and t-shirts. With every SuperHeroStuff.com purchase from late November through early December, customers were asked to add a pair of mystery socks to their order. For every pair purchased, a second pair was donated to CHOP.
Socks are a popular item for patients at CHOP. They offer a bit of flare, an opportunity for self-expression, and a break from the monotony of hospital gowns. SuperHeroStuff hoped to bring encouragement with products featuring characters like Batman, Captain America, Superman, and Wonder Woman - characters almost as strong as the brave boys and girls at CHOP.
Brian Welch, Co-Owner and VP of Operations Stated "We are very happy to announce that the CHOP sock drive was a success. We hope that through this donation we will be able to bring a little more joy to the children's holiday season."
SuperHeroStuff originally estimated the donation total to be 500-1,000 pairs of socks. The overwhelming kindness and charity from hundreds of super customers brought the donation totals to 1,525 pairs of socks and 575 t-shirts, a total retail value of over $18,000. Donations were delivered personally by SuperHeroStuff.com's CEO, Jon Belzer, on December 15, 2016.
Although the sock drive has ended, those who would still like to make a monetary donation may do by visiting https://give.chop.edu/page/content/give.
