SunView Software Announces Unparalleled Flexibility and Extensibility in ChangeGear 4.5
Latest release includes Dynamic Request Automation designed to make IT change and configuration management easier and more accessible.
TAMPA, Fla., Feb. 2 /PRNewswire/ -- SunView Software Inc., a leading provider of IT service management software, today announced the availability of ChangeGear 4.5, a significant product release of its change and configuration management solution. This release significantly enhances the power of workflows, extends the use of the web-based Configuration Management Database (CMDB), and introduces Dynamic Request Automation.
Dynamic Request Automation combines the power of forms authoring, advanced workflows, automated notifications, and multi-level approvals to enable intelligent handling of requests initiated by staff or other systems. Unlike other change and configuration management solutions, ChangeGear's innovative approach to processing requests makes it easier to define processes that include alternate forms and branched workflows that can be initiated from portals, email systems, monitoring systems, or from within the application. ChangeGear 4.5 further simplifies change and configuration management by giving customers a web-based platform that includes the ability to perform drag and drop customization to fully meet their business requirements.
"ChangeGear has already helped us streamline our change control and configuration management practices, but we are looking forward to the release of ChangeGear 4.5," said John Heimann, Director of Quality Assurance and Change Manager at Newmarket International. "We participated in the beta program and I am very impressed with what I have seen so far. We will definitely be upgrading as soon as the new release is available."
ChangeGear 4.5 also greatly expands the extensibility of ChangeGear's CMDB and the capabilities of the Resource Discovery Expert (RDE). The configuration-auditing capabilities of RDE has been extended to agentlessly scan and discover your virtual and physical infrastructure to collect configuration information including open ports, software configurations, running processes, and much more. You even have the ability to write and integrate custom Configuration Collectors to acquire specific configuration details from systems or applications. In addition to the many improvements to RDE, the CMDB has become more extensible. Using our easy-to-use designer tool, customers can add new asset types, such as documents, people, equipment, or any other critical assets that are important for managing risk in the organization. All of these changes significantly enhance ChangeGear's performance, security, and readiness for large, enterprise deployments.
"Our customers are facing unprecedented pressure to establish IT controls across the enterprise to improve security, reduce costs, and meet regulatory compliance," said Seng Sun, CEO of SunView Software. "This release demonstrates our continued commitment to deliver cost-effective solutions for automating IT controls and simplifying the adoption of IT service management best practices."
