SunTel Services Recognized by 2013 Michigan's Healthiest Employers Awards

TROY, Mich., Oct. 28, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- SunTel Services – a complete provider of services for unified communication networks to businesses throughout Michigan and across the country – today announced it has been named to the Honor Roll for the 2013 Michigan's Healthiest Employers, a statewide program recognizing employers for successful wellness programs and initiatives and sponsored by Priority Health, Crain's Detroit Business and MiBiz.

SunTel launched a comprehensive health and wellness program more than seven years ago to combat the increasing cost of healthcare and to improve the health of its employees. With nearly 80 percent participation and a tremendous shift in culture, the plan far exceeded expectations. The Michigan Healthiest Employer Awards are determined by surveying and evaluating organizations on the effectiveness of their wellness programs in six areas:

• Culture and leadership commitment;
• Foundational components;
• Strategic planning;
• Communication and marketing;
• Programming and interventions; and
• Reporting and analysis.

The survey was developed by Healthiest Employers LLC, a technology and data research company focusing on corporate wellness. Winning companies were chosen in two regions: Metro Detroit, including Wayne, Oakland, Macomb, Livingston and Washtenaw counties; and Greater Michigan, including all employers outside of Metro Detroit. Then, five categories were used to designate award winners based on the number of global employees – SunTel was honored in the 2-99 employee size category.
