Sunspire Health Announces Opening of 10th Addiction Treatment Facility
Company continues U.S. expansion with Sunspire Health Heartland in Illinois
LYNDHURST, N.J., March 28, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- Sunspire Health, a national leader in the treatment of addictive disorders, today announced the opening of its 10th facility, Sunspire Health Heartland in Gilman, Illinois. Located less than two hours from Chicago, the state-of-the-art facility will provide treatment for those suffering from substance use disorders and co-occurring mental health disorders. The Heartland facility – previously a spa – boasts a retreat-like setting on 32 acres of private, lakefront property.
"This key milestone demonstrates our commitment to providing a solution to the rampant drug and alcohol abuse that has swept our nation," said A.J. Schreiber, founder and CEO of Sunspire Health. "With overdose death rates rising and treatment capacity dramatically declining, our country is in desperate need of effective treatment – now more than ever."
The crisis is especially evident in Illinois. Roosevelt University published a study last year that found the State of Illinois ranked the third worst in providing addiction treatment. The study also found that the Chicago metropolitan area ranked first in the nation for emergency room visits related to heroin use.
The new facility will provide a full continuum of Sunspire's integrated care programming for adult men and women. Sunspire remains committed to providing patients with evidence-based clinical interventions, supported by Medication Assisted Treatment. The individualized treatment plans address each patient's unique lifestyle and needs, both in residential and outpatient settings.
