SUNRISE, Fla., April 9, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Sunshine Health, a subsidiary of Centene Corporation recently hosted a series of Dental Days at three Head Start school sites in Osceola County as part of its Dental Health and Wellness Campaign.
Sunshine Health Connections representatives visited the schools and provided fun and interactive workshops to students – teaching children what foods and behaviors cause poor oral health and which ones contribute to a healthy smile. The students also watched a demonstration on the proper way to brush their teeth and received goodie bags with new toothbrushes and other important tools to help them keep their teeth healthy.
"Educating children about proper dental hygiene is critical to maintaining their overall health," said Chris Paterson, CEO, Sunshine Health. "At Sunshine Health we believe in a holistic approach to healthcare, and poor dental health can be detrimental to your overall health. We are committed to helping children build this important foundation at an early age."
Dental Days, Sunshine Health's Dental Health and Wellness Campaign, will take place quarterly throughout the year. Sunshine Health will hold its second series on May 13th and 14th in Seminole County.
