Sunrise Senior Living Hosts Spring Tour of Homes and Gardens
Visitors are Invited to Tour Select Residents' Personalized Suites in Nearly 300 Sunrise Senior Living Communities Across the U.S. and Canada
MCLEAN, Va., March 3, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Sunrise Senior Living (NYSE: SRZ) announced today its first Spring Tour of Homes and Gardens, showcasing resident suites in nearly 300 of its senior living communities throughout the United States and Canada. The Sunrise Senior Living Spring Tour will occur Friday, March 18, through Sunday, March 20, and all members of the public are invited to attend and take part in the Sunrise experience.
"When residents move into a Sunrise Senior Living community, we encourage them to personalize their suite by bringing favorite pieces of furniture, meaningful items and family photographs," said Kelly Myers, SVP of Sales for Sunrise. "This is part of what makes the Sunrise experience so unique – we recognize the importance of creating homelike environments with the special touches that make life easier and more enjoyable. We look forward to giving our guests a feel for life at Sunrise at our Spring Tour of Homes and Gardens."
Each Sunrise community has selected a handful of unique suites to showcase during the three-day Spring Tour of Homes and Gardens. Visitors will be given a tour of the residents' suites and will be able to hear first-hand how the residents live a truly enriched life at Sunrise. The Spring Tour resident hosts range from artists, whose suites are filled with their own creations, to veterans whose medals and mementos are on display. Visitors will be inspired to see how the residents have incorporated their life-long passions into their lives at Sunrise.
Sunrise residents not only personalize their suites, but they also enjoy the thoughtful, homelike touches throughout the whole community such as natural lighting, bright decor and comfortable seating. The overall layout of each community is specially designed to accommodate seniors, and all of the furniture is carefully selected for the residents' comfort and safety. Just as they might in their own home, residents enjoy home-cooked meals and the companionship of fellow residents, passionate team members and the community's cat and dog.
Whether residents prefer leading a bridge club, enjoying a glass of wine with neighbors or going on a group outing to a museum, Sunrise helps them live life to the fullest. This spirit is especially true for residents with memory loss, as the Reminiscence program provides a nurturing environment focused on preserving dignity, engaging in meaningful activities and offering ongoing support to residents and their families.
