SunPower by Stellar Solar Launches Innovative "Solar Transcends Politics" Radio Campaign
The SunPower Master Dealer radio spot features founding partners Kent Harle - a conservative, Michael Powers - a liberal, and Brian Grems - a centrist, whose political view reflect the diversity of their customer base yet have worked together as a team for 20 years providing solar power to home and business owners in San Diego.
SAN DIEGO, Oct. 3, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- SunPower by Stellar Solar, San Diego's oldest SunPower dealer and one of two Master Dealers in San Diego County and winner of the San Diego Union Tribune Readers Poll in the category of Best Solar Company for a record sixth time in 2018, has launched an innovative radio campaign that reflects how solar energy transcends politics. The founding partners of SunPower by Stellar Solar, Kent Harle, Michael Powers and Brian Grems reflect that diversity yet work together in a manner that can be absent in today's divisive political climate. They have put their differences aside to build a company that has not only thrived for 20 years, but earned accolades along the way from their customers as one of the best at what they do in San Diego. This marketing strategy reflects both the diversity of their customer base as well as the decision to distribute promotional efforts across several stations. That mix includes the local National Public Radio affiliate KPBS that tends to attract a more left leaning audience, along with conservative talk station AM 760 KFMB, and Mighty 1090, XPRS-AM, Sports Talk, SunPower by Stellar Solar Director of Marketing David Boylan who produced the campaign said the idea has been brewing for a couple years and the timing was perfect given the current level of divisiveness happening in politics. "I found that given the wide differences of political views between Kent and Michael, how impressive it is that they put them aside when it comes to their shared passion for solar. And with Brian being the centrist engineer the ad almost wrote itself. It's a scenario I think we all wish would play out more often in politics."
Kent Harle, co-founder and CEO of SunPower by Stellar Solar and the conservative co-founder had this to say about the campaign; "As I say in the ad, I'm a firm believer in free markets and going solar is a prime example of free market choice against the government regulated utility. There are also plenty of conservatives who understand the economic growth the solar industry provides and several prominent Republican governors have presided over some of the most aggressive state-level solar programs we've seen in this country. The environmental benefits of going solar are obvious to most people but many are not familiar with the economic ones. We had fun recording this ad and besides conveying an important message about what a great investment solar is to home and business owners, it renewed the pride I have for living in the United States where people with differing political views can work together and get stuff done."
