SunGard Availability Services to Host Open House for New Sacramento Data Center
RANCHO CORDOVA, Calif., May 3 /PRNewswire/ -- SunGard Availability Services will showcase its new managed services data center with an Open House on Thursday, May 20, 2010, from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. The 69,000 square foot Sacramento Data Center is the latest facility to be added to SunGard's more than 35 managed services data centers in North America and Europe.
The facility offers high-density, raised floor space and a full suite of managed services including virtualization for primary and replicated customer applications, data storage and backups, security, monitoring and cloud computing infrastructure.
Located within a two-hour drive of the Bay Area in one of its most stable geologic areas, the facility also offers replication services, allowing customers to retrieve and restore vital information following a natural disaster or technology failure.
"Our goal is to provide enterprise-class infrastructure, customer service and support to valued customers and partners," said Dave Colesante, senior vice president and managed services, general manager at SunGard Availability Services. "Leveraging the economies of scale achieved through our 24/7 Sacramento Data Center, Network Operations Center and staff, SunGard can help businesses reduce capital and operational costs."
The SunGard facility includes 28,000 square feet of conditioned raised floor, which is available for customers. The raised floor is divisible into caged areas and private suites. The facility has two electrical feeds totaling close to six megawatts of power and is carrier neutral with nine fiber providers having access to the fiber vaults entering the data center.
SunGard Availability Services will host its Open House and Facility Tour on May 20 at 11085 Sun Center Drive, Rancho Cordova, California. Light snacks will be available throughout the day for attendees. To learn more about the event and to register, please visit the Sacramento Open House Event Web Site.
The Open House will also include tours of a SunGard Mobile Recovery Unit, which provides a recovery solution at a customer location when that organization has a facility unavailable due to an event, such as a systems outage or disaster, so employees can quickly resume work.
