SunGard Availability Services Launches Blog Series
First Blogs Focus on Industry Hotspots: Cloud Computing and Resiliency
WAYNE, Pa., Nov. 11, 2010 /PRNewswire/ -- The pace of technology can make it difficult for even seasoned executives to stay current on best practices regarding information technology for increased organizational efficiency. As part of its continuing efforts to address and understand the challenges businesses face in this area, SunGard Availability Services has recently launched a blog series aimed at advancing industry conversations on how to improve business and IT availability.
Mission Critical: Cloud is a blog with SunGard Availability Services cloud evangelist Carl Meadows as its primary contributor. The blog discusses the business and technology issues involved in implementing and managing cloud computing solutions, such as examining the best cloud computing approaches and secure cloud computing environments.
"We have seen increasingly that organizations want to get out of the business of owning and maintaining IT hardware, and cloud computing is emerging as a natural evolution of managed services to address this goal," said Mr. Meadows, director, solutions design, SunGard Availability Services. "We look forward to contributing to industry dialogue by providing a cloud computing overview on how the cloud is helping save businesses time and money, while increasing operational efficiency."
Resilience Perspectives is a blog with Jim Grogan as its primary contributor and looks at business continuity and disaster recovery issues. With more than 20 years at SunGard Availability Services, Mr. Grogan will tap his expertise to examine issues relating to sharpening organizational resilience.
"Driven by the costs of downtime and regulatory requirements, companies have made improving availability a business imperative," said Mr. Grogan, senior director, marketing, SunGard Availability Services. "We plan to spark discussions among the business and IT communities about optimized resilience in any type of business disruption situation."
