Sundyne Receives Business Recognition Award From Jefferson County EDC
ARVADA, Colo., March 26, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Sundyne has been named the recipient of the Jefferson County Economic Development Corporation's Business Recognition award, which honors companies that significantly contribute to the economic vitality of the community.
Nominated for this prestigious award by the Arvada Economic Development Association, Sundyne has grown its Arvada headquarters by adding new manufacturing space and increasing their local high-skilled and educated employee population. Sundyne ships pumps and compressors manufactured and packaged in Arvada across North America, Asia and Latin America.
The company's origins can be traced back as far as 1905, but they established their presence in Arvada in 1957 when they began developing water injection pumps for the Boeing 707. Through a series of mergers, acquisitions and technological developments, Sundyne ultimately evolved into a leading manufacturer of centrifugal pumps and compressors for use in oil and gas refining, petro-chemical and chemical production, water applications and manufacturing.
"We're proud of our Colorado heritage," says Sundyne President Jeff Wiemelt, "we've been in Arvada for over 50 years, and we look forward to continuing to provide high quality Colorado manufacturing to our global customers."
Thanks to new products and technologies currently in development, as well as the ongoing strength of their target markets, Sundyne is currently experiencing unprecedented growth. In 2012 alone, Sundyne increased employment at their Arvada site from 358 to 400 and added over $5 million in capital investments. They are expected to see continued growth through 2013.
