Sunday Efforts Produce Results
Power Restored to 114,000 More Louisiana Customers
NEW ORLEANS, Sept. 2, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Entergy crews restored power to approximately 114,000 more Louisiana customers Sunday. Overall, as of 9 p.m. Sunday 554,000 customers in Louisiana have had their power restored since Hurricane Isaac left 704,000 homes and businesses without electricity. Approximately 150,000 customers remained without power as of 9 p.m. Sunday.
The combination of Isaac's slow speed, strong winds and heavy rain caused extensive damage to power grids throughout Louisiana. At their peaks, the only storms to cause more power losses for homes and businesses across the company than Isaac's 769,000 were Katrina with 1.1 million, Gustav with 964,000 and Rita with 800,000.
