Sun Trolley Provides Free Transportation For Fort Lauderdale's Artwalks and Food in Motion Street Festival
FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla., Jan. 26, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- Downtown Fort Lauderdale's cultural scene is exploding and the Sun Trolley is proud to help you get there! On the last Saturday of every month (with the exception of December), thousands of art-enthusiasts flock to the FATVillage, MASS District and Fort Lauderdale Artwalks.
"Partnering with the Sun Trolley for charter services has helped with both traffic and congestion during the Artwalk," said Doug McCraw, Founder of FATVillage Arts District. "Many attending the Artwalk use the Sun Trolley. They can hop on in many different locations in Flagler Village. With the limited parking capacity in the Artwalk districts, the Sun Trolley takes advantage of off-site parking, which greatly helps our attendance numbers."
On Artwalk nights, the Sun Trolley service is free and runs from 6 p.m. to 11 p.m. Attendees can easily catch a ride with the Sun Trolley from the Searstown parking lot, located at 498 NE 9th Street, in Fort Lauderdale (behind Radioactive Records). There, parking is ample and free. CLICK HERE to view the route.
"The Sun Trolley assists the Fort Lauderdale Artwalk by connecting it with the neighboring FATVillage & MASS District Artwalks, and working to grow the Artwalk in the Historic Sistrunk corridor, ultimately making our neighborhood and city better connected," said Dylan Lagi, Executive Director of MASS District.
Another event gaining popularity is the Food in Motion food truck event. This event occurs on the second Friday of every month in Peter Feldman Park (310 6th Street, Fort Lauderdale). Food in Motion features nearly 30 different food trucks, live-music, craft booths and more. Similar to the service being provided for the Artwalks, the free Sun Trolley runs to and from the parking lot behind Searstown.
"This year, the Sun Trolley is celebrating its 25th anniversary," said Robyn Chiarelli, Executive Director of the Downtown Fort Lauderdale TMA. "One of our goals is to continue forming strategic partnerships, like we have with the area Artwalks. These partnerships ultimately help us better serve our community by transporting more neighbors and tourists to where they want to go."
The Sun Trolley operates eight routes in greater Fort Lauderdale including the free Riverwalk Water Trolley.
