Sun National Bank Named Recipient of Gloucester Township Economic Development Corporation Annual Award
Bank Recognized for Significant Investment and Contribution to Camden County Municipality
VINELAND, N.J., March 10, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Sun Bancorp, Inc. (Nasdaq: SNBC), the parent company of Sun National Bank, announced that it was selected by the Gloucester Township Economic Development Corporation as the recipient for its annual Economic Development Award. The bank was recognized for the development of its new environmentally-friendly Glendora branch, as well as community beautification efforts.
On March 7, 2011, the bank formally opened its new LEED-certified branch in the Glendora section of Gloucester Township. The 3,200 square-foot solar-powered building operates as a full-service bank branch, open seven days each week. LEED is an internationally recognized green building certification system, verify that a building has been designed and built using strategies intended to use environmental resources efficiently, such as energy savings, water efficiency, CO2 emissions reduction, and improved indoor environmental quality. The branch features two drive-through lanes and an Automated Teller Machine (ATM) lane, in addition to a night depository and safe deposit boxes. Additionally, the bank provided the community with a sign in front of the branch at the corner of Evesham Road and Black Horse Pike, which welcomes residents to Gloucester Township.

Each year, the Gloucester Township Economic Development Corporation invites business owners and operators from Gloucester Township and surrounding Camden County region to attend its annual Business Breakfast, where Sun National Bank will be formally recognized. "Formerly occupied by an abandoned gas station, Sun procured this key location, managed its remediation, and constructed a new bank branch that is both environmentally responsible, as well as an architectural landmark."
