Sun National Bank Breaks Ground on New Glendora Branch
GLOUCESTER TOWNSHIP, N.J., Sept. 21 /PRNewswire/ -- Sun National Bank broke ground on an environmentally-friendly, LEED-certified flagship bank branch last week in Glendora, Gloucester Township, NJ, that will serve as a prototype for future Sun National Bank branches throughout New Jersey. The green branch, to be located at the corner of the Black Horse Pike and Evesham Road, is scheduled to open this winter and will replace the existing Glendora branch situated on an adjacent site.

Sun President and CEO Thomas X. Geisel and the Mayor of Gloucester Township, David Mayer broke ground in a ceremony joined by Gloucester Township's zoning board member Ken Lechner, economic development council members Jim Forte and Phil Rowan, and Chief of Police Chief W. Harry Earl, in addition to Sun Board member Edward Salmon.
The 3,200 square-foot building will operate as a full-service bank branch, open seven days each week. Leadership in Energy & Environmental Design (LEED) is an internationally recognized green building certification system, verify that a building has been designed and built using strategies intended to use environmental resources efficiently, such as energy savings, water efficiency, CO2 emissions reduction, improved indoor environmental quality. The branch will feature two drive-through lanes and a drive-up Automated Teller Machine (ATM) lane, in addition to a night depository and safe deposit boxes.

The project is a part of Sun National Bank's active commitment to preserving the environment and supporting ongoing community initiatives that stimulate economic growth. The redevelopment will clean up and rebuild a previously-contaminated and abandoned gas station, with a two-story glass building. Sun will also support the local community by donating a welcome sign for Gloucester Township, which will be positioned on the site.
