Sun Design Remodeling Specialists of Northern Va. Names First In-House Architect Rick Simmonds

BURKE, Va., June 29, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Sun Design Remodeling Specialists, Inc. of Burke, VA, today announced the addition of its first in-house architect, Rick Simmonds, a veteran of more than 25 years in the residential design business.  The addition of Simmonds reflects the growth of the company that now includes approximately 50 team members, 6 of whom are remodeling designers.  

For four years before joining Sun Design – and for 14 years earlier in his career -- Simmonds ran Architectural Design Studio, his own design-build company specializing in high-end custom homes and remodeling projects.  Prior to that, he was Director of Architecture for the Landover Mid-Atlantic Group for K. Hovnanian Homes, where he was instrumental in evaluating the development of new house types including single family homes, townhouses and condominiums.  Simmonds was a Senior Architect for The Lessard Architectural Group where he started as a project manager.  He holds a Bachelor of Architecture degree from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and is licensed in both Virginia and Maryland.  Simmonds also holds a Class A builders license in Virginia.
