Sun Design Remodeling Specialists of Fairfax County Named as a National "Contractor of the Year" by the National Association of the Remodeling Industry

FAIRFAX COUNTY, Va., May 1, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Sun Design Remodeling Specialists, Inc. of Fairfax County, Va., has won a national CotY Award as a "Contractor of the Year"  from the National Association of the Remodeling Industry (NARI)  for a dramatic remodeling project in Fairfax, VA.  Earlier this year, the same project won a regional CotY award.  Sun Design has earned more than three dozen CotY awards since 1996.

The renovation, which won in NARI's $100,000-$250,000 residential addition category, was transformed from a 1960's, two-level split foyer, into a traditional, country-style, three-level home with full wrap-around porch.

Sun Design President Bob Gallagher, a former President of the Metro DC Chapter of NARI, who is also an honoree of NARI's remodeler Hall of Fame, said, "This is a period of strong growth for Sun Design thanks to the work of our great team and to the many clients who put their confidence in our creative abilities.  We're very excited to get national recognition from NARI."

Judges in the CotY Awards focused on problem solving, functionality, aesthetics, craftsmanship, innovation, degree of difficulty and entry presentation.  The entries in this year's competition totaled $90 million worth of remodeling projects. NARI members represent an elite group of the approximately 800,000 companies and individuals in the U.S. identifying themselves as remodelers, of which Sun Design Remodeling Specialists ranks in the top 1% in the nation of those 800,000 remodelers according to Remodeling Magazine's Top 550.   According to NARI, homeowners are estimated to spend a total of $113.6 billion on home improvements in the U.S. through the third quarter of 2012.
