NEW YORK, Oct. 9, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Summit Professional Networks today announced its plans to unify its Life, Health, and Property & Casualty media brands with its professional publishing, training & CE, and professional designations under what will be called the National Underwriter Professional Network. The company will align key products within its print portfolio under the National Underwriter brand and build on initial cross-marketing experiments to offer its industry-leading free and paid content in a single, seamless experience that provides financial and social rewards to users who take advantage of the comprehensive offerings.

"The mission of Summit Professional Networks is to unify and deliver all the critical resources our audiences require, at every point in their career arc, through an integrated content engine accessible across every available platform," said Jeff Patterson, president of Summit's Insurance Group. "Within the insurance industry, The National Underwriter brand has for decades represented best-in-class quality and performance in news, analysis, training, continuing education, books and events. We're simply making it easier for our audiences to use the brand they trust."
Beginning with the January 2014 issues, the peer-to-peer, sales-driven magazines within the Life & Health and Property & Casualty groups will join with the core National Underwriter branded magazines. Life Insurance Selling and National Underwriter Life & Health will unify to create one title as will American Agent & Broker and National Underwriter Property & Casualty, creating two distinct editorial resources delivering a comprehensive blend of feature analysis and peer-to-peer content to support the industry's largest reach to agents and brokers plus other qualified insurance professionals.
In September Property Casualty 360-National Underwriter magazine returned to its flagship title: National Underwriter Property & Casualty, aligning with its sister publication, National Underwriter Life & Health, also a flagship magazine brand within the new network.
National Underwriter Property & Casualty along with the other brands within the P&C market will be led by Group Publisher John Moore. Leading the Life & Health business will be Group Publisher Dave O'Neil. Both will report to Insurance Network President Jeff Patterson. Summit is further committing resources to providing customer-centric solutions within the insurance network by naming Tashawna Rodwell its first Director of Strategic Accounts, reporting to Dave O'Neil.
To create an unmatched offering of paid products and services that meet the complete information needs of insurance professionals throughout their careers, Summit will fully integrate its premium-content businesses into the National Underwriter Professional Network, with Rick Kravitz taking on the role of Vice President, Executive Director of Premium Content, reporting to Jeff Patterson.
"Summit's Professional Publishing Division and its media platforms have obvious advantages of working together," said Kravitz. "In recent months we've seen success in testing our content in context strategy by making our expert books available for sale on our three insurance websites – giving insurance professionals access to the expert guidance they need, when they need it in their careers and in the most usable format. Integration into the National Underwriter Professional Network allows us to scale this strategy and brings us closer to our goal of being the first choice provider of expert content, luminary author guidance and client solutions."
