Summit Midstream Announces Start-Up of Arlington #1 Gathering Station and Acquisition of Additional Pipeline Assets From Chesapeake Energy Corporation
ATLANTA, Sept. 1 /PRNewswire/ -- Summit Midstream Partners, LLC ("Summit") announced today that its wholly-owned subsidiary, DFW Midstream Services LLC ("DFW"), has commissioned the Arlington #1 gathering station with the start-up of an initial 19,800 horsepower of compression. This is the first gathering station located within the city limits of Arlington and by the end of 2010, the station is expected to accommodate a total of 37,800 horsepower of compression. Together with a smaller gathering station located in Dalworthington Gardens, DFW's gathering system will have the capacity to transport approximately 500 million cubic feet of gas per day by the end of 2010.
Steve Newby, President and CEO of Summit commented, "The start-up of Arlington #1 represents a significant milestone for DFW and I'd like to thank our team for their hard work and dedication. This station provides much needed throughput capacity to our shippers and facilitates the continued production of natural gas in one of the most economical gas producing regions in the country."
In addition, Summit announced that DFW has acquired additional pipeline assets from a subsidiary of Chesapeake Energy Corporation (NYSE: CHK). The acquired assets include a 6.5 mile high pressure pipeline that will connect DFW's gathering system into Enterprise Products Partners L.P.'s Trinity River Lateral. The transaction is underpinned by a long term contract between DFW and its shippers.
"This acquisition is strategically important to DFW as it establishes an additional northern interconnect for our shippers and enhances their downstream delivery options," Newby commented.
