Summer Fun 2017: Outdoor Events, New Restaurants Make Harbor Point the Place to Be in Stamford
More classes, more events and new eateries add up to another summer of good times at Harbor Point
STAMFORD, Conn., May 17, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- Harbor Point, the transformative mixed-use waterfront development in Stamford, is rolling out another exciting summer for residents and visitors with an expanded schedule of events, recreational offerings and new eateries to enjoy in 2017.
Developer BLT and its event partner Biederman Redevelopment Ventures (BRV) have a full roster of outdoor events planned all summer at the more than 12 acres of public open space in Harbor Point, including Commons Park, Harbor Point Square, and the Harbor Point Boardwalk. Also for the first time, complimentary WiFi access will be available for visitors across all Harbor Point public spaces. With an event calendar that's bigger than ever, the 2017 summer schedule is once again making Harbor Point the place to be in Stamford for seasonal fun, recreation, events, nightlife, and dining.

The schedule will kick off with the annual 5K Boys & Girls Club 5K on May 24th along with the start of the free water taxi. Exciting outdoor happenings and entertainment are on the docket every week, all summer long, including Board Games Nights; Pinot's Palette wine and painting classes; a variety of fitness classes including Barre Classes, Yoga, Zumba, Tai Chi, Paws and Planks and Rockette Dance Fitness; Dog Training classes; Book Club meetings; and live music all season long courtesy of Steel Drum and Brass Bands. Traditional favorites like Harbor Point Movie Night, Harbor Point Car Show, and the Harbor Point Farmer's Market are also coming back to round out a roster of events that offers something for everyone.

The numerous summer recreational options at Harbor Point are also returning in 2017, which include: kayak and paddleboard rentals through SoundWaters on the Harbor Point boardwalk; public sails by SoundWaters departing from Boccuzzi Park; and evening "Pub Runs" led by Fleet Feet Sports and Exhale. In addition, Fortina, World of Beer, Dinosaur Bar-B-Que, Sign of the Whale and Crab Shell have a full roster of events throughout the summer. Daily amenities for visitors, including Lawn Games, Giant Games, Ping Pong, Reading Room, Games Cart, Fitness Equipment and Volleyball, are always available for use.
The dining choices at Harbor Point continue to expand, with new additions to its already strong eatery scene. Most notably Mexicue, the restaurant known for its inspired fusion of Mexican favorites and American smoky barbeque, will soon debut at Harbor Point as their first location outside of Manhattan. In addition, world-class coffee roaster Zona Coffee was also added to the growing list of nearby food options, which include Asian Bistro; Bareburger; Boothbay Lobster, Corbo's Deli; Crab Shell; Dinosaur BarBQue; Fortina, Harlan Social; Fairway Market, Le Pain Quotidien, Prime; Sign of the Whale; T's Pizza Kitchen; Two Boots; World of Beer; and others.
