Summer Events in Full Swing at Taos Ski Valley
Significant summer expansion at the ski valley includes mountain biking launch, free live music series and more
TAOS SKI VALLEY, N.M., June 24, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- This summer, Taos Ski Valley is offering more events and attractions than any summer before. The Saturday Summer Music Series has already begun, offering free live, outdoor entertainment for the whole family. Coming soon is the mountain biking launch event celebrating exciting new trails for all skill levels, followed by numerous fun events around the Fourth of July holiday. These and other activities represent Taos Ski Valley's noteworthy summer season expansion, demonstrating to visitors why it is not just a leading winter destination, but an excellent choice for summer travel, as well.

- Saturday Summer Music Series, Saturday afternoons June–August 23, Resort Center Stage:
The concerts are free to attend and feature performers from all musical genres, including Americana folk from The Gleewood Band, local favorites The Neighbors, Austin's singer/songwriter darling Dana Falconberry, world music from Todo Mundo, and regionally acclaimed country star Michael Hearne. Also, on July 5th the series hosts an Art of the Song Creativity Radio recording session celebrating singer/songwriters Jay Boy Adams and Zenobia, who were recent winners at the New Mexico Music Awards. View the full calendar. - Mountain Biking Launch Celebration, All day, Saturday, June 28:
Taos Ski Valley will hold a grand opening celebration for Pioneer's Bike Park, a collection of biking trails that will offer lift-accessed beginner to novice mountain biking. The park encourages progression and skill building as guests navigate beginner and intermediate flow trails, as well as an uphill/downhill cross country trail. Also launching is the Berminator, a 3.6-mile, advanced mountain biking track beginning at the top of Lift 1. The mountain biking launch celebration will offer an array of fun activities for the whole family, including bike demos, clinics and live music all day. - Fourth of July Festivities:
- Parade, 2PM, Pagoda area
A one-of-a-kind mountain town parade led by Jean Mayer, founder of the Hotel St. Bernard and one of the original pioneers of Taos Ski Valley. Spectators are encouraged to cheer on colorful floats as they travel through village streets. Local ski patrollers, EMS, Village staff, Taos Ski Valley staff and residents have been challenged to create the most hilarious float contraptions, but only one will win the coveted "Float of the Year" trophy. - Duck Race, 3 PM, Sierra del Sol:
The 13th Annual Rubber Duck Race is a fundraiser for the Field Institute of Taos, a provider of outdoor education programs for youth. Visitors may pre-purchase racing ducks by emailing [email protected] or purchase ducks on race day in Taos Ski Valley for $5 per duck. Participants and spectators can cheer the ducks on as they race, or watch from the finish line. Great prizes will be awarded for top finishers. - Live Music from Brent Berry y Tambien, 3-6 PM, Resort Center Stage
A blending of musical styles from around the world: Afro-Coastal and urban high-life music. Free to attend and free popcorn.

- Ongoing Summer Activities: scenic chairlift rides, sand volleyball, kids playground and sumo suit play area, tetherball, disc golf, rock climbing, horseback riding, hiking, biking and of course, free live music every Saturday afternoon.
