Summary Programme for the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum Released to Participants
ST. PETERSBURG, Russia, April 22, 2015 /PRNewswire/ --
From April 20, 2015, the SPIEF business programme with session descriptions, discussion topics and key themes will be available on the Forum's official website.
The 19th St. Petersburg International Economic Forum will take place on June 18-20, 2015, bringing together heads of states and governments, political leaders, CEOs and senior executives of major Russian and international companies, leading experts, and representatives of Russian federal and regional authorities. The theme of this year's Forum will be 'Time to Act: Shared Paths to Stability and Growth'. The discussions will cover four main topics of the programme:
• GLOBAL ECONOMY: NEW CHALLENGES AND SHIFTING HORIZONS
• RUSSIA: SEIZING THE OPPORTUNITIES
• HUMAN CAPITAL AND EXPERTISE
• DISRUPTORS: TRENDS AND TECHNOLOGIES
This year's programme will combine multiple discussion formats and events, including the SCO and BRICS Business Forums, the B20 Regional Consultation Forum, an Energy Summit with the heads of energy companies, a Media Summit and a Young Leaders Forum. There will also be a session of the Valdai Club Session, the first of its kind to ever take place at SPIEF. SPIEF Debate is an innovative new discussion format, which allows experts with opposing views to discuss the most pressing issues face to face. Tried and tested SPIEF formats also make their way onto the Forum's agenda, including: panel discussions, briefings, TV debates, seminars, country-specific round tables, business breakfasts, 'Conversations with the Extraordinary', as well as the Global Energy and Development Prize awards ceremonies.
Now more than ever it is important to maintain a constructive dialogue that can facilitate mutual understanding and help lay the groundwork for joint decisions and actions. This is the key idea of the SPIEF programme.
