Suiting Up to Run the "40" for St. Jude Children's Research Hospital®
Football fans invited to submit own videos, donate to St. Jude
MEMPHIS, Tenn., Feb. 20, 2015 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- At the close of this week's NFL Scouting Combine, NFL Network host Rich Eisen will run the 40-yard dash in suit and tie to benefit the NFL PLAY 60 relationship with St. Jude Children's Research Hospital®.
As part of "Run Rich Run," fans are encouraged to submit videos of themselves running the 40-yard dash in their work clothes and to donate to help support the lifesaving mission of St. Jude. Because of the generous support St. Jude receives from its contributors, families never receive a bill from the hospital for treatment, travel, housing or food – because all a family should worry about is helping their child live.
Richard Shadyac Jr., President and CEO of ALSAC, the fundraising and awareness organization for St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, ran his "40" this week and encouraged fans to support St. Jude patients and their families by doing the same and submitting their videos and donating at NFL.com/RunRichRun.
"There are literally thousands of ways to support St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, but this is certainly a first," said Shadyac. "It's an incredibly fun and easy way to introduce people to our mission, and we thank Rich Eisen and the NFL Network for their continued support of patients and families battling cancer and other life-threatening diseases throughout the U.S. and around the world."
To kick off the "Run Rich Run" campaign, NFL Network, DIRECTV and Under Armour have each pledged $25,000 to help support St. Jude.
Since 2013, NFL PLAY 60 has been the 'Official Champion of Play' at St. Jude, helping to give all kids the chance to play.
The 2015 NFL Scouting Combine will air exclusively on NFL Network from February 20-23.
