SUEZ ENVIRONNEMENT and ZenRobotics Announce a Global Framework Agreement for the Delivery of New Sorting and Recycling Automation Systems
PARIS, September 17, 2013 /PRNewswire/ --
SUEZ ENVIRONNEMENT, world leader exclusively dedicated to water and waste management services, and ZenRobotics Ltd. the world leader in robotic recycling will co-operate for the global deliveries of the ZenRobotics Recycler™ (ZRR) waste sorting system. The framework agreement streamlines the ZRR ordering process for all SUEZ ENVIRONNEMENT subsidiaries globally. The agreement does not contain exclusivity or ownership changes between the parties.
The ZRR system picks raw materials from construction and demolition waste (ie: wood, stone, metal) safely and with unprecedented efficiency. The ZRR system has been piloted since 2011 at SITA Finland, a part of SUEZ ENVIRONNEMENT. It has shown an increase in the utilization rate for the waste class from 70 % to 90 %.
"SUEZ ENVIRONNEMENT is a pioneer in the uptake of innovative recycling technology. We have supported ZenRobotics's R&D from the start as a pilot customer. Now we are taking the next step by employing the ZenRobotics Recycler technology on an industrial scale. Construction and demolition waste recovery is a growth and developing sector. With key references such as in Rotterdam, SUEZ ENVIRONNEMENT wants to extend its activities and the ZRR will enhance the recovery rate," says Christophe Cros, Deputy Chief Executive Officer of SUEZ ENVIRONNEMENT in charge of Waste Europe.
"This is a great day in the history of ZenRobotics! SUEZ ENVIRONNEMENT, world-leading player in waste, has witnessed the benefits of our robotic sorting technology. With this global agreement both companies have now vaulted to the forefront of high-tech recycling," extols ZenRobotics CEO Juho Malmberg, cheeks aglow.
