Sue Wong Announces a Collaboration with ACME Studio, Maui
LOS ANGELES, Nov. 15, 2010 /PRNewswire/ -- Fashion designer Sue Wong announced today a collaboration with ACME Studio of Maui, Hawaii on the "Talmadge" collection of better small accessories for men and women inspired by the designer's love of old Hollywood. While ACME Studio is known for their many collaborations with notable architects such as Frank Lloyd Wright, Karim Rashid, and Charles and Ray Eames and iconic artists including Keith Haring, Shepard Fairey and others, designers Ettore Sottsass and many others, the collaboration with Sue Wong marks the company's first venture with a global fashion brand. "Sue Wong's incredible attention to detail makes her a natural fit for our collaboration," said Adrian Olabuenaga of ACME Studio.

The "Talmadge" collection is also the first venture into better small accessories for the Sue Wong brand, whose past collaborations have included a limited collection of dresses inspired by Tim Burton's Alice in Wonderland and a collection of exotic sarong based looks inspired by Sony's Eat Pray Love.
The Sue Wong designed "Talmadge" collection features a pen, an elegant business card holder, a fine eyeglass case and a mirror compact in a striking art deco inspired pattern. "I've always been inspired by the nostalgia and romance of old Hollywood and I wanted to channel the opulence and elegance of the era in my design," said the designer, known for her novel and exquisite details and fusion of modern and period style.
"The ACME Studio - Sue Wong 'Talmadge' collection's Art Deco richness makes it the perfect gift for the man or woman on your holiday list," says Jane Putch, Sue Wong's licensing agent.
The ACME Studio's "Talmadge" collection by Sue Wong is available now in fine museum stores and boutiques and on Amazon.com.
ABOUT SUE WONG
"What good is fashion unless it stirs up genuine emotion" -- Sue Wong. At the age of six, Sue Wong and her mother narrowly escaped communist China and its purges. They joined her father in Los Angeles and Sue became intoxicated by everything that shaped Hollywood Style: the slinky seductresses and dangerously handsome actors of the pre-code silver screen, the decadence of Weimar Berlin, the fervor of Jazz Age Manhattan, the exotic intrigue of 1930's Shanghai, the heady excitement of bohemian Paris --- all inspire her life and inform her work. Alluring and evocative, a Sue Wong design often echoes period style while remaining modern and utterly of the moment. Sold in over 20 countries, her collection enchants as it empowers, leaving a trail of speechless romantics in its wake.
Sue Wong was represented by Jane Putch of Eyebait Licensing & Management for this breakthrough collaboration.
