Sue Wallace Named Executive Director of Creating IT Futures for Minnesota

EDINA, Minn., June 10, 2015 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- The Creating IT Futures Foundation announced that Sue Wallace is its new executive director for Minnesota. Responsible for all program operations and fundraising in the state, Wallace will work with local employers and community leaders to foster information technology (IT) training with a diverse potential workforce in Minnesota, particularly in the Twin Cities.

"To help address the IT worker shortage, in 2012 the Creating IT Futures Foundation launched an intensive training and job placement program called IT-Ready in Minneapolis/St. Paul," said Charles Eaton, CEO, Creating IT Futures. "Since then, we've placed more than 120 out-of-work Minnesotans into upwardly mobile IT occupations. About 80 percent of our graduates get full-time IT work because of our program and the efforts of our staff, yet with the addition of Sue, I know we can do more to serve communities in the Twin Cities and across the state."

Wallace comes to the foundation after nearly 14 years of program development, grant writing and management experience at Jewish Family and Children's Service of Minneapolis. Before that, she worked in the IT industry as the operations manager for MicroAge. She holds a bachelor's and master's degree from Ball State University.

Wallace is based at the foundation's new office in Edina, Minn., which is currently holding an IT-Ready training class. Applications for the next class which begins in July are due by June 29. Potential participants can apply at www.ITReady.com.
