SuccessEHS Named 2012 EHR Direct Qualified Vendor for PQRS
BIRMINGHAM, Ala., Feb. 9, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- SuccessEHS is pleased to announce that it is one of only 20 Electronic Health Record (EHR) Direct Qualified Vendors nationwide to successfully complete the vetting process for 2012 Physician Quality Reporting System (PQRS) reporting. The designation, given by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS), recognizes vendors whose solutions provide the required data elements for the 51 PQRS measures directly from the EHR.
SuccessEHS's effort to maintain the most current PQRS qualification demonstrates the company's continued commitment to helping its clients successfully participate in government incentive programs as they prepare for landmark changes in healthcare regulation. Recent healthcare legislation seeks to help physicians improve patient care through use of quality measures that are based upon evidence-based clinical guidelines. Some of this legislation includes the Tax Relief and Health Care Act of 2006 (TRHCA), the Medicare Improvements for Patients and Providers Act of 2008 (MIPPA), the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009 (ARRA), and the Affordable Care Act of 2010 (ACA). PQRS is linked to each of these acts; through this reporting system, eligible professionals who meet the designated reporting and reimbursement criteria will qualify for incentive payments beyond the incentives available under other federal initiatives (such as Meaningful Use) and avoid future penalties for non-participation. Furthermore, participation is a way to prepare for forthcoming pay- for- performance programs. Providers who meet reporting requirements for EHR-based PQRS will simultaneously meet the clinical quality measure reporting standards for the Meaningful Use incentive program by participating in the 2012 PQRS-Medicare Incentive Pilot.
In addition to the PQRS qualification, SuccessEHS is committed to maintaining the highest available level of certification for Meaningful Use, including ONC-ATCB certification as a Complete EHR. CMS has indicated that EHR-based PQRS reporting is the preferred clinical reporting method for the Meaningful Use incentive program, and that the two programs will be brought into alignment as required under ACA. The strength of SuccessEHS's credentials for PQRS and Meaningful Use underscores the company's ability to position its clients for success in these programs both now and in the future.
"We cannot emphasize enough the importance of PQRS in current and future healthcare reform," said Tina Graham, COO of SuccessEHS. "To ensure that our clients continue to be prepared for the challenges and opportunities to come, SuccessEHS has proactively pursued the most current qualification for PQRS reporting."
