BALTIMORE, Sept. 18, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- Success for All Foundation, a national nonprofit focused on improving student learning by disseminating research-proven approaches to accelerating achievement, today announced Lynsey Seabrook, its current COO, as the new CEO. A former school social worker, staff member in a Success for All school, and school improvement coach for schools around the country, Seabrook brings more than two decades of experience leading educators driven to achieving educational success for every student. Seabrook also holds a doctorate in Organizational Leadership.
Dr. Seabrook joined Success for All in 1998 after working as a school social worker in a Success for All school in California. She saw first-hand the power of Success for All to support the school to address instruction, schoolwide systems, and family to improve student learning. Seabrook worked nationally with schools serving economically disadvantaged and minority students, assisting school leaders and teachers to identify leverage points for change and build data-based continuous improvement, achieving great success. Dr. Seabrook took on a role as Vice President in 2008, and then COO, and was identified by the board as Dr. Madden's successor a year ago. Dr. Madden is co-founder of Success for All Foundation, with her husband Dr. Robert Slavin, and led the organization for 20 years. She will remain on the Board of Directors.
"The Board of Directors, staff, and I are extremely excited to have Lynsey take on the leadership of Success for All, to bring new energy and creativity to building the future," said Madden. "This past year, Lynsey has laid the foundation for a new engagement strategy focusing on state and local advocacy for student success that will bring in partnership and energy to address local needs with research-proven strategies. I look forward to seeing this effort blossom in the coming years."
In addition to the change of CEO, Dr. Slavin is stepping down as the Chair of the SFA Board, and Barbara Haxby Brady will take this role. Both Dr. Slavin and Dr. Madden will remain on the SFA Board.
"Lynsey Seabrook's depth of experience as a practitioner in SFA schools along with her experience as a leader in SFA makes her an ideal choice to take SFA into the future," said Barbara Haxby Brady, the new SFA Chair. "Lynsey understands the communities that SFA serves and has had deep experience in running the field organization to ensure academic growth for students and consistent results. She has pioneered new approaches to school support and new ideas for program delivery."
Dr. Seabrook assumes the role immediately.
