Subaru of America, Inc. goes to the dogs in New Orleans, helping rescue hundreds of shelter animals that were surrendered due to the struggling Gulf Coast economy. During the Pilots N Paws Gulf Coast Rescue Flyway, 114 pilots and co-pilots flying 58 private airplanes will transport as many as 500 animals to receiving shelters as far away as New Jersey. Subaru supports this massive rescue effort by using All-Wheel Drive Subaru vehicles to transport volunteers to and from New Orleans Lakefront Airport, as many of the surrounding roadways are still scarred from Hurricane Katrina's devastating floods. |
