STX Entertainment's Non-Scripted Television Business Signs Production Agreements With Brant Pinvidic And Ryan Holcomb
STX Ramps Up Non-Scripted Capabilities
Expands Strong Collection of Content Offerings Across Film, Television and Other Media
LOS ANGELES, May 3, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- As STX Entertainment ramps up its newly launched non-scripted television business, the Company announced today that it has signed multi-year production deals with two leading alternative content companies with proven success in the non-scripted arena: Brant Pinvidic's INvelop Entertainment, and Ryan Holcomb's Tower 2 Productions. The announcement was made today by Jason Goldberg, President of Non-Scripted and Alternative Programming for STX Entertainment.
As announced last week, Goldberg and STX's non-scripted production team are creating original programming in the U.S., China and India. The global media company also produces and distributes 12-15 motion pictures a year in addition to other content for other platforms.
STX Non-Scripted has already sold and secured development deals for 12 shows to multiple networks in the U.S. and Asia, including NBC, CW, Food Network, Syfy, Oxygen, the History Channel and Freeform. In line with STX's focus on opportunities in Asia, STX is positioned to become the first U.S.-based entertainment company involved in a broadcast television show airing in China. "Thank You for Your Love," a celebrity and personality focused variety show developed in conjunction with XG Entertainment, is expected to premier to one billion viewers when it airs later in 2016.
"Brant is a creative force in the unscripted space and we're excited to be in business with the entire INvelop team," said Jason Goldberg. "Ryan Holcomb is a smart producer with an eye for IP that translates across multiple screens. Programming directly in the U.S. and Asia for linear and short form platforms is an important component of STX's larger business operation and we will continue to strategically identify and partner with the right production companies that can help us create compelling programming for the world market at the highest level."
"Announcing this continued expansion of STX Non-Scripted so soon after the launch of the division demonstrates our commitment to this arena," said Sophie Watts, President of STX Entertainment. "STX is determined to provide audiences with a variety of excellent content across film, scripted, unscripted and other media. Attracting talented partners like Brant and Ryan will help us build our content portfolio and please global audiences across a number of distribution channels."
Pinvidic launched INvelop Entertainment in January, 2016. It is a full-service multimedia production company focusing on unscripted television and feature length documentary films.
Prior to forming INvelop Entertainment, Pinvidic served as President and Chief Creative Officer for 3 Ball Entertainment, overseeing programming and the development slate. During his nearly six-year tenure there, he developed and sold more than three-dozen series. Pinvidic directed and starred in "Why I'm Not On Facebook," his first documentary film that is distributed in more than 50 countries and was a winner at the Manhattan Film Festival.
Ryan Holcomb and his Tower 2 Productions banner comes to STX Non-Scripted from Rogue Atlas Productions and Lionsgate TV, where he most recently served as Senior Vice President of Development, having spent the last five years developing and producing non-scripted programming.
