Study: 28% of American Adults Want to See Oprah as the Next President
Mark Zuckerberg is favored by American women, with Mark Cuban being the favorite entrepreneur for men
Millennials most admire Elon Musk, would want to work for him and vote for him for president
NEW YORK, Feb. 21, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- New research undertaken by Fit Small Business examining the favorability of a selection of entrepreneurs has been released today. 500 participants were asked a series of questions about some of the world's most famous entrepreneurs including Oprah Winfrey, Mark Zuckerberg, Mark Cuban, and Elon Musk. The questions asked who they liked and disliked most, who they would want as the next president of the United States, and who they would most like to work for, among others.
The findings revealed some interesting insights about what we think of our most prominent business leaders;
- Unsurprisingly, Oprah Winfrey won every positive category including most trusted, best role model, most liked, and who should be the next president. However, she also was the most disliked with 26.9% of the vote,
- When broken down by demographic, Mark Cuban is the favorite for men on the question of who they would most like to see run for president with 27.3% of the vote, beating out Oprah,
- Ladies love Mark Zuckerberg - 30% of women would like to see him run for president.
With entrepreneurs taking a more significant place in American culture, from our TV screens to the White House, research like this gives us insights into how we view our leaders and what roles they have the potential to fulfill.
Further results found that Jeff Bezos was the least well known of all the entrepreneurs included, only gaining significant numbers in the 'Most Disliked' category. Elon Musk placed well among millennials; 32.8% of those aged 18-24 would like to work for Musk, more than the double the figure for those aged over 25. The complete results can be viewed here.
