Studica Partners with SREB to Help Support the Advanced Career Program
SANBORN, N.Y., Feb. 24, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Studica, Inc. has partnered with the Southern Regional Education Board (SREB) to provide the technology products included in the Hands-on Learning System Kits. These kits are a requirement of the SREB Advanced Career program; part of the SREB's High Schools That Work school improvement initiative. Studica was selected by SREB because of its longevity, focus on education, expertise in STEM education solutions, leadership in e-commerce for academic technology products and commitment to excellent customer service.
The SREB Advanced Career program better prepares high school students for their futures regardless if they choose to continue on the path to higher learning or move directly into the workforce. This program offers a relevant, intense and challenging approach to prepare students for their futures by providing the skills needed for high-wage, high-demand and high-skilled fields.
"We are excited to be working with Studica to provide our schools with a single source to obtain the diverse components, technology and tools necessary for students to answer the driving questions of the projects," says Gene Bottoms, SREB Senior Vice President. "Because each group of students will work toward problem solutions differently, we needed a supplier who would be both adaptable and affordable. We are confident that Studica will meet these needs," Bottoms said.
There are currently seven SREB Advanced Career STEM pathway programs available for schools to adopt in fall 2014 (Advanced Manufacturing, Aerospace Engineering, Clean Energy Technology, Energy and Power, Health Informatics, Informatics, and Innovations in Science in Technology). Each pathway provides ready-to-implement coursework, comprehensive training for teachers, access to technology and tools for project-based learning, and end-of-course assessments. As part of the program, students use industry standard software and data acquisition hardware to complete authentic tasks.
