Students Highlight Creative Strategies that Drive Classroom Engagement Through Cengage Learning Instructor for a Day Contest
Contest received over 20,000 votes for selection of top six winners
BOSTON, July 23, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Looking to students to reveal creative strategies to drive classroom engagement, Cengage Learning, a leading global education company, today announced winners of the 2015 Instructor for a Day College Scholarship Contest. Cengage Learning challenged students to express their creative skills with a short (1-2 minutes) original video demonstrating how they would best engage their classmates in the learning process.
Six winners have been named, with the first place student receiving a $1,000 scholarship and the five runners-up each winning $500 scholarships. Video submissions were narrowed down by a panel of judges based on creativity, memorability, quality, and overall impact, and winners were decided by a public vote.
Garnering 9,159 votes, the winning video focuses on combatting boredom and distraction in the classroom by using humor to engage students. The winning video, as well as entries from the runners up, can be found on the Cengage Learning Blog. The scholarship recipients are as follows in order of votes received:
