"The Ford College Ambassador Challenge is one of the most unique and innovative programs I've ever seen offered on college campuses," said Berger. "It pushes students out of their comfort zone, and encourages them to think like professionals and understand how to market to their peers. The experience will change the career paths of the participants by giving them a taste of the real world."
Students will compete in three separate challenges with the goal of attracting the most participants:
- Day in the life of a college student with Ford viral video – Student teams create a one-minute video integrating a Ford vehicle and its technologies at www.FordCAC2014.com.
- Host on-campus speaking event – Student teams will promote a panel discussion featuring Berger and representatives from Ford and two top local employers
- Drive 4 UR Community event – Student teams will plan and market a one-day Drive 4 UR Community test drive with local dealers. For each eligible test drive completed, Ford will award $20 (up to $6,000) to the team's charity of choice
The team with the highest total composite score will win $500, a Ford vehicle for one month, and an all-expenses-paid trip to Ford World Headquarters in Dearborn to meet and network with Ford executives.
Challenges run through March 31, 2014. The winning team will be announced April 7.
