Students can earn bachelor's degree in nursing at Herzing University's Akron campus
AKRON, Ohio, Dec. 17, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Herzing University, a private nonprofit institution, has expanded its nursing program at its Akron campus, allowing students to earn a bachelor's degree in nursing in less than three years. Students can begin their studies in early 2016, and the fast-paced program will help them quickly transition to the workforce in this high-demand position.
Students are signing up now for the program, which begins Jan. 11. They can attend three semesters per year – spring, summer and fall – at the Akron campus, which allows students to save time and money in their quest to become a full-time registered nurse.
"When you attend Herzing, we provide everything you need to be successful in our program. You're part of a family, not just a number," said Bill Cassidy, Regional Campus President-Ohio for Herzing University. "We have small class sizes, provide student support in many ways – including help during open labs – and secure clinicals with well-known local health care providers, including pediatric specialists."
Tuition in the Herzing University nursing bachelor's degree program covers several additional items, including uniforms and books, which is often not the case at other schools. Also, instead of waiting four years for a degree, students could finish in eight semesters, which, if taken consecutively, would amount to fewer than three years.
"We want students to be able to start quickly and finish on a faster timetable on their way to a bachelor's degree," said Dr. Christina Silva, Nursing Department Chair at Herzing's Akron Campus. "Studies have shown there will be a nursing shortage in the next few years, which is why registered nurses are one of the most sought-after professionals in the job market, especially for those with a bachelor's degree. Herzing is here to help students get the training they need and to assist with meeting the needs of the American public now and for the years to come."
Herzing University's Akron campus is at 1600 S Arlington St., Akron, OH. The school currently offers an associate degree program in nursing. For more information, visit the campus during business hours or call 330-594-3034.
