Enrollments still being accepted
LAS VEGAS, Aug. 25, 2011 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- The start of school is literally at the fingertips of students enrolled in Nevada Virtual Academy (NVVA). On Monday, August 29, while many students will board school buses, NVVA students will log on and enter their online classrooms for the 2011 school year.
NVVA is a tuition-free online public charter school open to students anywhere in the state for grades K-12. Now in its 5th year, NVVA continues to be one of the fastest-growing schools in Nevada and serves students with an individualized approach to education.
Mike Kazek, NVVA Head of School, said, "We welcome back new and returning students for what's sure to be another successful year at NVVA. Our school is a perfect fit for parents who want to be more involved in their child's education and for students looking for a school that suits their individual needs. We look forward to working with more students in the future."
NVVA uses the award-winning curriculum developed by K12 Inc., the nation's largest provider of online school programs for students in kindergarten through high school. K12 provides its academic program in online public schools in 29 states and the District of Columbia.
NVVA teachers are state-licensed and provide instruction, guidance, support, and regularly interact with students and parents via email, web-based classrooms, online discussions, phone, and through face-to-face meetings. Teachers organize school outings to museums, parks, local zoos, and other interesting sites to support NVVA's commitment to creating an outstanding parent, community, and faculty support system.
