The world's largest ticket marketplace StubHub UK has teamed up with some of Britain's biggest radio stations to bring fans a series of free 'secret gigs' this summer.
eBay's secondary ticketing website has partnered with popular radio stations including Magic FM, Absolute Radio and Kiss FM to present the series of six intimate concerts, which will feature huge international acts as well as upcoming stars.
The events are the centrepoint of StubHub's #gigenvy campaign - a unique set of partnerships that aim to empower music lovers with the knowledge they need to obtain tickets to must-see live entertainment events so they can get up close and personal with their favourite stars. Those keen to get their hands on free VIP passes can tune into the participating radio stations or follow @StubHubUK on Twitter for more information.
The first of these clandestine events saw StubHub UK team up with Magic FM on April 28th 2014, for a glamorous affair hosted by DJ Neil 'Dr' Fox. Gig-goers were treated to an exclusive performance by platinum selling American pop star Anastacia in the sumptuous surroundings of the Savoy Hotel in London.
The number one selling vocalist, who has recently returned to music after overcoming a second bout of breast cancer, performed a selection of classic hits including 'I'm Outta Love' and 'Left Outside Alone' as well as tracks from her latest album Resurrection including 'Stupid Little Things'. After the gig the singer made time to mingle with her fans, smiling for photos and signing autographs.
StubHub UK also arranged for children from the Chickenshed theatre group to meet Anastasia, who joined them for a chat at their table. The ticketing website is an official partner of this non-profit organisation that seeks to enable children, teenagers and adults of all backgrounds and abilities fulfil their singing and acting ambitions.
Fiona Chow, Head of European Communications for StubHub, said: 'My top tip for securing gig tickets is to come to StubHub UK - we have tens of thousands of events on site and hundreds of thousands of tickets available'. She continued: 'The great thing about using a site like StubHub is that we guarantee every transaction, so as a buyer you get the tickets you pay for in time for the event. If there is a problem, you get replacements of comparable value or a full refund.'
StubHub UK also partnered with Absolute Radio on May 21st 2014 for the next secret gig, to bring rock fans a thrilling performance by indie icon James Walsh, former frontman of Starsailor.
