SAN FRANCISCO, Oct. 16, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- StubHub, the world's largest ticket marketplace, today announced it will integrate with Apple Pay, a new service working to transform mobile payments with an easy, secure and private way to pay. Apple Pay is easy to set up and users will continue to receive all of the rewards and benefits offered by their credit and debit cards. StubHub expects the Apple Pay integration to go live in December.
Through the addition of this unique, secure payment system, StubHub continues to lead through innovation on the cutting edge of web and mobile ticketing technology and industry firsts in providing sports, music and entertainment fans the most options to discover and attend the live events they love.
By integrating with Braintree's v.zero SDK, StubHub is able to easily add Apple Pay as a payment option. StubHub will be offering Apple Pay within the StubHub mobile app, available on the App Store. With Apple Pay, purchasing tickets in the StubHub app will be as simple as the touch of a finger with Touch ID, so there'll be no need to manually fill out lengthy account forms or repeatedly type in shipping and billing information.
"StubHub is proud to be one of the first companies to announce support for Apple Pay," said Parag Vaish, U.S. Head of Mobile Product, StubHub. "One of our continual goals is to make the ticket-buying process as seamless and safe as possible. Apple Pay helps eliminate many extra steps while keeping our fans' information safe and secure. Combined with other new StubHub ticket-buying policies such as All-In Pricing – which eliminates surprise fees across the board – StubHub provides a seamless and secure mobile experience that is unrivaled across all of ticketing."
Security and privacy is at the core of Apple Pay. When you add a credit or debit card with Apple Pay, the actual card numbers are not stored on the device nor on Apple servers. Instead, a unique Device Account Number is assigned, encrypted and securely stored in the Secure Element on your device. Each transaction is authorized with a one-time unique dynamic security code, instead of using the security code from the back of your card.
Apple Pay is compatible with iPhone 6, iPhone 6 Plus, iPad Air 2 and iPad Mini 3.
The StubHub app is available for free from the App Store on iPhone or iPod touch, or at www.itunes.com/appstore.
