Stuart N. Conway Recognized by Strathmore's Who's Who Worldwide Publication
SYOSSET, N.Y., June 15 /PRNewswire/ -- Stuart N. Conway, of Fort Collins, Colorado, has been included in the Strathmore's Who's Who Worldwide Edition for his outstanding contributions and achievements in the field of conservation.
ABOUT STUART N. CONWAY
Mr. Conway has over 25 years of experience in the conservation field and has planted more than 20 million trees. Mr. Conway received a B.S. in Forest Management, from Colorado State University and an M.P.S. in International Development, with an Emphasis in Agroforestry, from Cornell University. He served as a Peace Corps Volunteer in Guatemala from 1984-1987. He then served as the Director of the Washington, DC-based New Forests Project and initiated reforestation projects in Central America, Ethiopia and the Philippines. He is currently the International Director and Co-Founder of Trees, Water & People, a nonprofit organization involved in the development and management of community reforestation, watershed protection, renewable energy and environmental education programs in Latin America and the American West. He established stove factories in Central America that provided 40,000 fuel efficient stoves, saving the health of women and young children from toxic indoor air. Mr. Conway received the "Million Dollar Rio Tinto for Sustainability Prize" in 2008 as well as the 2009-2010 "Sasakawa Prize", from the United Nations Environmental Program. He is a member of various organizations including the Society of American Foresters, the International Society of Tropical Foresters, a Founding Board Member of the Rocky Mountain Sustainable Living Association, Engineers in Technical and Humanitarian Opportunities of Service (ETHOS), and the National Association of Returned Peace Corps Volunteers. Mr. Conway currently resides in Fort Collins, Colorado, where he enjoys tennis and skiing.
