Stryker Settlement News: Legal-Bay Lawsuit Settlement Funding Reports Extended Enrollment Deadline for Stryker Orthopedics Rejuvenate Hip System Settlement
Case Funding Firm reports that the Stryker Orthopedics Rejuvenate Hip System settlement enrollment deadline has been extended to March 30th, 2015 for patients who have a recalled ABG II Modular Hip System or Rejuvenate Modular Hip System.
ATLANTA, March 23, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Legal-Bay LLC, The Lawsuit Settlement Funding Company, reported today that the enrollment deadline for the Stryker Orthopedics Rejuvenate Hip System settlement has been extended to March 30th, 2015. The initial deadline to enroll in the settlement was early March of this year, but the deadline has been extended to give more patients who have been affected by the hip systems a little more time to register and participate in the settlement.

The Stryker ABG II and Stryker Rejuvenate Modular Hip Systems were voluntarily recalled by Stryker Orthopedics in June of 2012 due to reports of corrosion, metallosis, and a high failure rate. In November of 2014, Stryker announced a $1.45 billion settlement for compensation for patients who received either of the recalled hip devices. The terms of the settlement stated that patients with one hip implant and consequent removal prior to November 3rd were eligible for $300K, while patients who had both hips implanted then removed would be awarded $600K. Plaintiffs who have undergone multiple surgeries and had more serious injuries could receive even higher than the base amount. Legal-Bay advises patients who have experienced complications from a Stryker ABG II or Rejuvenate Hip to contact a Stryker hip lawyer or Stryker hip law firm as the deadline is approaching to file a lawsuit claim.
Those enrolling in the settlement must have registered claims with the Claims Processor by December 19th, 2014. Patients who missed the initial filing period still may have time to file a claim against the recall hip manufacturer if they retain a hip recall lawyer. Contact Legal-Bay to find out what alternatives you may have if you believe you have a potential claim against Stryker, particularly if you have elevated levels of metal in your blood, known as metallosis, or if you have had a revision surgery or need one.
Patty Kirby, COO and Head of Client Relations of Legal-Bay, commented on the company's services, "Although the initial settlement enrollment period is ending shortly, we will continue to provide settlement funding for Stryker plaintiffs waiting for final payment for amounts up to $50K. We also stand committed to assisting plaintiffs not in the first settlement with pre-settlement funding of amounts up to $30K. Additionally, we urge patients who have had a Stryker recall hip product (ABG II or Rejuvenate) who have been experiencing issues to contact us and obtain a free legal consultation from one of the top Stryker attorneys in our network."
