Stride's Health Coverage Recommendation Engine Accessible to Uber Driver-Partners Nationwide
Stride is also offering free flu shots to drivers at pharmacies nationwide
SAN FRANCISCO, Nov. 9, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Today, Stride Health announced that its Health coverage recommendation engine will be accessible directly through the Uber Partner App for driver-partners nationwide, making it easier than ever to shop for and compare plans, including finding out which plans include their doctors and provide the most cost-effective care for their profile.
"Last year we embraced the opportunity to help a portion of Uber's partners maximize their financial savings on health coverage," says Noah Lang, Stride Health's CEO. "With hundreds of thousands of people growing small businesses on the platform, I'm thrilled that we've taken it up a notch this year with national expansion."
A year ago, Uber and Stride began piloting Stride's health care recommendations and coverage enrollment engine in seven states: California, New York, Texas, Illinois, Pennsylvania, and Florida and New Jersey. In the pilot, Stride's recommendation engine was available only through driver's online accounts, not directly through the Uber Partner app itself.
During the pilot, over 45,000 Uber partners have used Stride for guidance on a variety of health care needs, including finding a doctor, planning a visit, enrolling in coverage, and using the company's sophisticated recommendation engine to compare health plan options. The pilot also showed that two-thirds of Uber driver partners accessed Stride from their mobile device and that nearly half of drivers who have enrolled in health coverage through Stride did so on their phones.
As a result, this year, drivers nationwide will be able to access Stride's product directly through the revamped Uber Partner App. Stride will be accessible by all drivers nationwide who participate in the Momentum program, which also includes discounts on fuel, reduced vehicle maintenance costs; and discounts at top wireless carriers.
"We're constantly looking for ways to improve our driver partners' lives and livelihoods; finding the right health care solution is an important part of that mission," said Jeff Miller, Business Development Director for Uber. "Our expanded partnership will enable driver partners across the country to conveniently access Stride Health's technologies through our app."
Drivers who are part of Uber's Momentum program will receive a voucher through Stride Health this week, and can use it at over 8,000 pharmacies nationwide to get a free flu shot. This addition represents Stride's commitment to making preventive health care easy and affordable for Uber driver partners.
In addition to providing free flu shots, Stride's support advisors also help patients schedule appointments, and raise awareness of free preventive care services available through their health plans.
