16-Acre Data Center Development Planned for Plano's Legacy Business Park
PLANO, Texas, Jan. 21, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- Stream Data Centers, a national data center services provider, has acquired 16 acres of land to build a new state-of-the-art data center development at Legacy Business Park, a master-planned, mixed-use development located in Plano, Texas.
Stream's data center will be a 210,000 square foot ground-up development. The purpose-built data center will be constructed using Miami-Dade County Building Code Standards, providing the ability to withstand sustained 185-mph straight-line winds. Additionally, Stream is utilizing accredited construction and design practices required to achieve LEED Silver Certification.
"Stream's data center in Plano continues our Texas expansion and provides an excellent addition to our portfolio," said Rob Kennedy, co-managing director of Stream Data Centers. "This facility will provide enterprise users with an attractive wholesale option in one of the area's fastest growing markets."
The Dallas market is one of the largest metropolitan areas in the country. The Far North Dallas submarket, in particular, is one of the most active markets for large-scale corporate relocations and expansions in the country. This will be Stream's second data center development in Legacy and its fourth development in the Dallas market in the last four years. Stream Data Centers will break ground on the Dallas data center in the second quarter of 2016 and the facility will be ready for occupancy in the first quarter of 2017.
